Barack H. Obama

I cannot say why, perhaps because of all of the attack-talk from the right - calling this candidate by his middle name as if it were the determining factor of his abilities, but I was inspired to run Mr. Obama's name through an online Anagram Generator when I happened across something very interesting: It was only when I inserted his middle name, "Hussein" into the mix was the word, "American" produced.

I pulled the image from http://www.flickr.com/photos/tsevis/

Thanks

  1. I too am a little disconcerted with the attacks on Senator Obama's middle name. It's like they are willing to do whatever they can to scare the pants off of people in an attempt to get him associated with the enemy.

My mother is a born-again from eastern Pennsylvania, and while I love her to death our political ideals are not exactly in sync. The other day she sent me an e-mail entitled "How to destroy America". In it, it listed how the American ideal structure could be undermined and the country ultimately destroyed if we allowed more then one language (aka multiculturalism) to exist in this country.

There was a long, long list of things that I feel should absolutely equate with a BETTER country rather then the destruction of one... and the e-mail stopped just short of saying that America's ultimate destruction would be reached if a minority was elected president.

I don't know who writes this stuff, and I don't know who comes up with these smear campaigns that will equate someone with the enemy just because of their middle name...

But I am reminded of a time when persecution because of you name happened in a much broader sense. And that was in a little country called Germany about fifty years ago.

As stuff like this persists in the American phychie, I fear that one day we might be viewed as the Nazi's of the 21st century.

  2. Nice looking digs you got here Jonathan...hmmm...an anagram generator, I will check this out. Tomorrow is March 4th. I'm hoping for a speedy conclusion to the democratic primaries ending with the name Obama.

  3. Hey John,

Although I am not a supporter of Senator Obama's, I was very intrigued by the results of the generator. Irony is not without a sense of humor.

We'll have to see how tonight's Primaries end to see if he's the Dem candidate.

    See you in "class"

  4. too bad it didn't say "next president". i don't like the way the media has been framing hillary's recent wins in texas and ohio...it reminds me of during the last election campaign when suddenly John Carey was the only candidate left, in the eyes of the big media outlets...
